Rome/Chianti/Florence

Our first outing was Sunday night. We had dinner in an old part of Rome that looked surprising like the old town in Quebec City. Excellent food and a French sing-along, led by one of the members of the other tour group (from France) that shared the restaurant with us. What a delight.
This is Nora who moved to the Tuscany 32 years ago from her home in Long Island, NY.

These are the magnificent grapes over the lovely patio behind her farmhouse in the hills of Chianti.
These are some of her herd of cashmere goats
(the largest herd in Europe).
And a lace parasol made of pure cashmere to charm us in Nora's yarn shop at the Chianti Cashmere Company after sitting under an arbor of exquisite grapes, while sipping espresso and eating biscuits, listening to this amazing lady tell of her work to preserve the integrity of the genetic line of cashmere goat. What an afternoon.
And then we arrived in this exquisite city of Florence, and this is the view from my hotel window. It is truly magical.
